Scheduled Hosted River Golf Cruises in Chronological Order
River Cruising offers an intimate and leisurely holiday experience. A River cruise is a voyage along inland waterways, often stopping at multiple ports along the way. River Cruising is the fastest growing part of the cruising industry and has become popular especially in Europe. You can enjoy the convenience and luxury of a deep-ocean cruise but with the ability to dock right in town, smaller ships, fewer passengers, less “sea days” and river cruising often gives you more time at the destination.
We have run or have upcoming golf cruises scheduled on Mississippi River (4), Seine River (3), Rhone River (3), Douro (1), St Lawrence, Great Lakes and Nile (1).
River Golf Cruises with Availability
Our tour commences in Madrid on 22 April 2024, ends in Lisbon on 7 May 2024 and includes 7 nights cruising the Douro River. The standard Tauck tour is 12 nights (includes 5 nights combined in Madrid and Lisbon) – we have extended to 15 nights by adding an additional 3 nights combined in Madrid and Lisbon. We include 7 games of golf in the programme with 2 games in both Lisbon and Madrid and a further 3 games in northern Portugal while cruising on board MS Andorinha. We have chosen this time of the year to secure ideal golfing conditions (June to August summer months can be very hot in Spain/Portugal and we have avoided this timing).
Our tour commences in Paris on 27 September 2024 and ends in Cannes on 12 October 2024 and includes 9 nights cruising the Rhone and Saone Rivers. We will include 7 games of golf in the programme with 4 games in Paris and Cannes and a further 3 games while cruising on board MS Emerald. Importantly, two of our golf games are at Golf National where we play the Albatross Course, home of the French Open and venue for the 2018 Ryder Cup. We include an extra 2 optional golf games while cruising the rivers taking to 9 the total potential golf games. We have chosen this time of the year to best secure ideal golfing conditions (June to August summer months have proven very hot in France in recent years and we have avoided this timing). Pricing, including golf programme, is from AUD 16,930 pp. We have a number of available CAT 7 top deck rooms within our group allotment which offer attractive relative value. These rooms cost AUD 21,080 pp but are large at 27 sqm (next largest room is 20 sqm), include upgraded (and larger) hotel rooms in both Paris and Cannes and also have a EUR 100 on board credit (useful to use in Spa or to have your laundry processed).
Following guest demand, Trendsetter has released a luxury golf tour of Egypt and the Nile River. The tour is 17 nights and is luxury throughout. We start with 5 nights in Cairo at Four Seasons Plaza Hotel with golf at the top 3 golf courses in Cairo plus a day of extensive guided touring. We spend 7 nights on Uniworld’s luxury riverboat River Tosca sailing along Nile River visiting many of the great historic Egyptian sites including a visit to Abu Simbel. All our guests will reside in Grand Suites each with an area of 30 sqm. Post cruise, we relax for 2 days at the 5 star iconic historic Sofitel Winter Palace (1886) in Luxor before spending our final 3 nights in Somabay on the Red Sea coast. We play 6 games of golf on 5 different internationally rated golf courses including courses designed by Greg Norman, Gary Player, Peter Thompson and Nick Faldo.

Our 7 night cruise is book-ended with 3 night stays in Four Seasons hotels in both Toronto and Chicago. While in Toronto, we’ll take a trip to Niagara Falls and our cruise of the Great Lakes visits Cleveland, Detroit, Mackinac Island and Muskegon. We sail extensively on 4 of the Great Lakes (Ontario, Erie, Huron and Michigan) and travel 42 km through the Welland Canal to enter Lake Erie from Lake Ontario.
