Both are enthusiastic golfers and longstanding members of one of Sydney’s most prestigious golf clubs. They have golfed and cruised extensively around the world and invite you to join them on this fantastic cruise and golf tour.

All Trendsetter guests receive:
- EUR 150 onboard ship credit per person
- Additional Uniworld loyalty benefits for past guests
- Dedicated Egyptologist and touring coach for excursions
Tour numbers are strictly limited to 34 golfers plus hosts to ensure a highly personalised experience.
Based on our successful Egypt and Jordan tours in 2024 and 2026, both destinations proved welcoming, comfortable and exceptionally safe for international travellers.
This is far more than a golf tour — it is a once-in-a-lifetime adventurous journey through one of the world’s greatest civilisations.
Optional Jordan Extension
Guests may also join a five-night luxury Jordan extension featuring Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea, operated by Abercrombie & Kent with expert guides and premium to 5 star accommodation throughout. Our 2026 Jordan extension exceeded all expectations and was considered by many guests to be even more fascinating than Egypt itself.

Above is a group photo of our 2024 tour party during the Cairo day tour visiting Giza and the Pyramids.
Egypt charges a circa 600% duty on foreign alcoholic beverages which makes their consumption prohibitively expensive. Thus, all drinks included by Uniworld and Trendsetter Travel are locally produced beers, wines and spirits (often produced under licence). Both our 2 x previous tour parties found the local drinks more than acceptable alternatives to the foreign brand.
Significant additional information on the Uniworld component of our tour can be found on the following link:

From there you will have a personal transfer provided to the Four Seasons Nile Plaza Hotel. All our group rooms are a minimum 45 SQM (very large) and offer king beds, panoramic Nile River views, a bathroom featuring a separate shower and bath and complimentary premium wifi.

Tour Inclusions: transfer to hotel, pre-dinner drinks, dinner (including drinks) and accommodation
Day 2 – Wednesday 6 October 2027 – Cairo – Golf Game 1 – Newgiza Golf Club
Golf Game 1: Today we play Newgiza Golf Club – ranked # 3 in Cairo, # 4 in Egypt and # 89 in all Africa. Newgiza Golf Club (2019) was the final course design of Thompson, Perrett & Lobb before the passing of Peter Thompson. The course has a number of outstanding golf holes, many with severe elevation changes and water carries. The below image is the spectacular 6th hole played from an elevated tee.
We are booked for a multi tee start from 9.30 am which should see us all finish around the same time of about 2 pm. As a result of this being the favourite Cairo course for our 2026 tour group, we have decied to play Newgiza twice and drop Katameya Heights from our Cairo rota. While Katameya Heights is a magnificent course, its greens are long overdue replacement and presented an inferior putting service relative to the excellent greens on the other 3 x Cairo courses we play in our rota.
Tour Inclusions: breakfast, golf and accommodation
Day 3 – Thursday 7 October 2027 – Cairo – Golf Game 2 – Allegria Golf Course
Golf Game 2: Today we play the Greg Norman designed Allegria Golf Course (2010), currently managed by Troon Golf. Allegria is presently ranked the # 1 golf course in Egypt and # 28 in Africa. We will depart around 7.45 am for a 45 minute coach transfer to the golf course with a multi tee start booked from 9.30 am. This should see us all finish around the same time of about 2 pm.
Tour Inclusions: breakfast, golf and accommodation
Day 4 – Friday 8 October 2027 – Cairo – Full Day of Touring Including Museum and Pyramids
After breakfast, a full day of touring Cairo commences. First we tour the Pyramids and Great Sphinx, with an optional camel ride – a mere 30 minute drive from our hotel. After a pleasant lunch at a highly recommended local restaurant (beer and wine included), we will visit the recently opened new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
Tour Inclusions: breakfast, guided tour of Cairo, lunch and accommodation

Day 5 – Saturday 9 October 2026 – Cairo – Golf Game 3 – Katamya Dunes
Golf Game 3: Today we play at Katamya Dunes – a Nick Faldo/Brian Curley/Lee Shmidt designed course (2010), the sister course of Katemya Heights. The course is rated # 2 in Egypt and # 33 in all Africa. We are booked for a 9.30 am tee off. The course forms part of the Westin Golf Resort and Spa and receives excellent reviews. With New Giza Golf Club, this was considered one of the two best (and toughest) layouts of the Cairo courses we played on our Egypt tours in 2024 and 2026.
Tour Inclusions: breakfast, golf and accommodation
Day 6 – Sunday 10 October 2027 – Cairo – Golf Game 4 – Newgiza Golf Club
Golf Game 4: Today we play Newgiza Golf Club for a 2nd time.
Tour Inclusions: breakfast, golf and accommodation

Day 7 – Monday 11 October 2027 – Transfer to Luxor
We will check out of our Cairo hotel and transfer to Cairo Airport for a 1 hour flight to Luxor, to board the River Tosca. We may require an early morning flight if required upon by Uniworld. Although our preference will be for a late morning/lunch time flight to Luxor. If an early flight, breakfast will be served from 5 am.
We have two available suites on River Tosca – Grand Suite (30 sqm – 37 suites) to Royal Suite (60.5 sqm – 2 suites). All room sizes are significantly larger than the equivalent on a Uniworld European River Boat (on Uniworld, they would vary between 16 and 19 sqm and the bottom level would be part below water). As we experienced with our similar Egypt tours in 2024 and 2026, you will spend little time in your room as we will mostly be out and about on guided tours, with free time (usually in the afternoon/early evening) enjoyed in balmy conditions on the roof deck watching all the Nile River activity. It does not get much better than this on a river boat anywhere in the world.
The Grand Suites are physically identical (refer above image) and are located over all 3 x levels of guest accommodation on ship and all have the same uninterrupted river views. However, pricing for the Grand Suites differs depending upon which of the 3 x levels you wish to have your Grand Suite.
Additional details on the various stateroom/suite categories can be found on the following link:
https://www.uniworld.com/au/ships/river-tosca
Before dinner onboard this evening, you will be treated to a folkloric dance performance by a local band of dancers, in traditional costumes representing different Egyptian districts. This is known as the Whirling Dervish show.
For greater detail on Uniworld’s River Tosca Nile Cruise, please refer to the following link:
In viewing this link, please disregard the information regarding pre- and post-cruise, as the only part that applies to Trendsetter is the 7 night cruise as a standalone component. The description of daily activities which follows is taken from the Uniworld web page however our 2024 and 2026 experiences were that the order of tours and entertainment sometimes changed from the allocated days but that all advertised activities were included during the cruise.
Tour Inclusions: all meals, including most drinks, plus Uniworld tours
Day 8 – Tuesday 12 October 2027 – Luxor – Dendera - Cruising the Nile – Day 2 on the Nile
This morning we visit the Temple of Karnak – which stands on the site of ancient Thebes, once the the flourishing capital of Egypt’s New Kingdom. After lunch back on River Tosca, we visit the Temple of Hathor at Dendera which was dedicated to the goddess of love and beauty. The temple dates to Egypt’s Ptolemaic era, when the heirs of Alexander the Great ruled over Egypt and adopted Egyptian culture and religion as their own. Built between 125 BC and AD 65, it is one of the best-preserved temples in all of Egypt and features a rare bust-relief of Cleopatra with Caesarion, the son she bore to Julius Caesar.
Tour Inclusions: all meals, including drinks, plus Uniworld tours
Day 9 – Wednesday 13 October 2027 – Luxor – Kom Ombo - Day 3 on the Nile
Today you will visit Valley of the Kings, one of the most famous archeological sites in the world and where the mummified remains of Tutankhamen are on display. Our day also includes a visit to the gigantic twin statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. Upon return to the ship, we set sail for Kom Ombo. The following image is of a typical Nile River vista, as seen from the roof deck of our ship.
For the enthusiastic, there is the option of early morning hot air ballooning over Luxor before we head to the Valley of the Kings.
Dinner tonight is Egyptian themed, after which there will be a Galabeya Party with music, dancing and singing by crew members.
Tour Inclusions: all meals, including drinks, plus Uniworld tours.
Day 10 – Thursday 14 October 2027 – Kom Ombo, Cruising the Nile River, Aswan – Day 4 on the Nile
This morning we visit The Kom Ombo Temple, a temple dedicated to two gods—the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus the Elder. Several of the 300 crocodile mummies discovered in the vicinity are displayed inside the temple. The image left is hieroglyphics that appear on the walls of the temple.
After a break for lunch back on the ship, those interested in bird watching can elect to do a bird-watching excursion along the Nile.
Tour Inclusions: all meals, including drinks, plus Uniworld tours
Day 11 – Friday 15 October 2027 – Aswan Dam - Day 5 on the Nile
A big day awaits. We will visit the Aswan High Dam, a marvel of modern engineering. The Aswan High Dam, completed in the 1970s, boasts some truly epic dimensions—it is 3,600 meters long, 980 meters wide at its base; and 93 meters high—with a reservoir capacity nearly five times that of the Hoover Dam.
Today we will also visit the Unfinished Obelisk and the beautiful Philae Temple complex, which was moved from one island to another back in the 1970s. The day’s touring concludes with a ride in a felucca—a traditional Egyptian sailboat – followed by afternoon tea at The Cataract Hotel. This is an historically significant and famous hotel, now part of Sofitel’s Legend Collection and made famous by Agatha Christie. She was in residence here for some months writing Death on the Nile.
After dinner onboard, we will be be treated to an enchanting Nubian show featuring traditionally attired performers, live music and dancing.
Tour Inclusions: all meals, including drinks, plus Uniworld tours
Day 12 – Saturday 16 October 2027 – Abu Simbel - Day 6 on the Nile
Today there is an optional tour to Abu Simbel, one of the most recognisable ancient sites in Egypt. For 3,000 years, it sat on the west bank of the Nile River, between the first and second cataracts of the Nile. However, in a remarkable feat of engineering, the temple complex was dismantled and rebuilt on a higher hill to make way for the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s.
The tour can purchased onboard the ship, or together with your final payment, and will cost approximately AUD 600 pp. It requires an early breakfast, departure from the River Tosca as early as 5.30 am with a return to the ship around 1.00 pm for lunch.
Those opting out of the Abu Simbel tour will enjoy a relaxing morning on the ship or you might like to explore independently ashore.
Tour Inclusions: all meals, including drinks.
Day 13 – Sunday 17 October 2026 – Temple of Esna - Day 7 on the Nile
On today’s Uniworld excursion, we will learn how the Temple of Esna was buried under debris for many centuries and is one of the last great Egyptian temples ever built. Our Egyptologist guide will share all sorts of fascinating insights about this significant cultural site and show you the façade bearing the last known hieroglyphic inscriptions ever recorded in Egypt. The temple is but a short walk from our berth.
Later today, we will enjoy a relaxing sail north up the Nile before our ship berths in Luxor for the night.
Tour Inclusions: all meals, including drinks, plus Uniworld tours
Day 14 – Monday 18 October 2027 – Cruise Ends – Luxor – Somabay
Post breakfast, we say goodbye to the crew of the River Tosca and will transfer by coach to Somabay. The journey duration is approximately 4 hours, including a short refreshment break. The journey is scenic with the mountain passes of particular interest.
This afternoon is free for your relaxation. The resort has a lovely swimming pool, and a swimming beach – or some might prefer to explore the nearby marina/town centre (reached by complimentary shuttle bus or an easy 20/25 minute walk). The Red Sea area of Somabay is now a high end tourist resort area catering predominantly for the European leisure and golfing market. Unlike the rest of Egypt, where pricing is in either local Egyptian Pounds or USD, the pricing in Somabay is in EUR and Egyptian Pounds.
Accommodation is at Cascades Golf Resort for the next 4 nights. The Hotel adjoins the Somabay Golf Club and is a 2 minute walk from Reception to the Pro Shop. Your upgraded rooms are large at 44 sqm, feature a separate bath and shower and offer either golf or sea views.
Tour inclusions: breakfast, transfers to hotel and accommodation

Day 15 – Tuesday 19 October 2027 – Somabay – Golf Game 5 – Cascades at Somabay
Golf Game 5 – A desert links style course, Cascades at Somabay is the # 3 ranked golf course in Egypt and ranks # 50 in all Africa. Opened in 1998, the course was designed by Gary Player and offers stunning views from many holes, most with views looking out to the Red Sea. Signficantly, there is an island hole on each nine and guest reports indicate the course is maintained to a very high standard. For many this will be a good warm up prior to playing the course a second time two days later. In addition to the daily prizes, we will offer prizes for the best scores over the 54 holes of golf we play at Somabay.
Tour Inclusions: breakfast, golf and accommodation

Day 16 – Wednesday 20 October 2027 – Somabay – Golf Game 6 – Madinat Makadi Golf Club
Golf Game 6: – We drive 30 minutes drive north to play Madinat Makadi Golf Club. Designed by American architect, John Sandford, the course is the 2nd ranked in Somabay and is ranked # 9 in Egypt. However, the course claims to have been awarded by World Golf Awards Egypt’s Best Golf Course for 6 consecutive years from 2014 – 2019. We received excellent hospitality with our most recent visit.
Tour inclusions: breakfast, golf and accommodation
Day 17 – Thursday 21 October 2027 – Somabay - Golf Game 7 – Cascades at Somabay
Golf Game 7: – After a leisurely breakfast, we will tee off at Cascades at Somabay Golf Club from 9.30 am for the final round of the tour with the potential to be crowned Trendsetter Travel’s ladies and mens individual champions of Somabay. Post golf, there should be an opportunity to relax prior to this evening’s events when we will have our farewell group dinner. The 54 hole golfing awards will be made during dinner.
Tour inclusions: breakfast, golf, final tour dinner and accommodation

Day 18 – Friday 22 October 2027 – Tour Ends
Say goodbye to your many new found friends with complimentary transfers to the Hurghada Airport (a circa 55 minute transfer) – individual car transfers will be provided by Cascades Hotel with the cost covered as part of your tour. This transfer can be taken on a subsequent day if you extend your stay at the Cascades Hotel (and perhaps check out the hotel’s local private beach on the Red Sea – shown on below image).
For those joining the Jordan post tour extension, you will fly from Hurghada to Cairo and then connect for a near 1 x hour flight to Amman.
Tour Inclusions: breakfast and transfers to Hurghada Airport
Deck Plan of River Tosca
The following diagram is the Deck Plan of the River Tosca
Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours has a group allocation of 20 Grand Suites and the 2 x Royal Suites are available to Trendsetter clients subject to availability.

In reviewing your options, it needs to be appreciated that each of the Grand Suites, regardless whether Category A, AB or B, are physically identical – the difference being more elevated views on the two higher decks. Uniworld prices Grand Suites dependent upon which deck they are located. We have a large allocation of Grand Suite AB rooms (middle deck) given there are few available Grand Suite B rooms (bottom deck) and the comparatively large AUD 1,300 pp premium (AUD 2,600 per room) to be on the Top (Pyramid) Deck rather than the Middle (Pharoah) Deck. In prior years Uniworld common priced all of Grand Suites A, AB and B. Unlike on European river boats, the bottom deck is well clear of the water level and not sitting half under water (commonly referred to as a Swan View) as it does with European river boats.
