Prague to Paris Golf Cruise – 10 to 26 August 2026

Prague to Paris Golf Cruise

16 Night Tour – 7 to 9 Golf Games - 9 Nights Cruising
10 to 26 August 2026 (17 days/16 nights)*
from A$20,350 per person (singles from AUD 21,340 pp)

Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours (TTGT) invites you to join us on our Prague to Paris golf cruise/tour onboard Tauck’s luxury MS Joy, a tour which will see us travel  through or stay in 4 countries – the Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg and France.  We have added our golf programme to Tauck’s recently launched 13 night Prague to Paris tour – Romantic Capitals – Prague to Paris.  The itinerary is compelling with great 5 star hotels in Prague (4 nights) and Paris (3 nights) and a 9 night cruise travelling on 4 rivers: Danube, Main, Rhine and Moselle and finishing with a private boat tour on the Seine River in Paris.

We have chosen the August timing to best ensure warm conditions and be able to make maximum use of the roof deck as we sail slowly down the 4 rivers.  Apart from a great viewing place during the day, the roof deck is a magnificent venue for pre dinner and post dinner drinks when combined with expected balmy summer weather.  Further, there is an added bonus – as Tauck is running this tour on 9 separate occasions during calendar 2026 – the pricing for our tour is some AUD 3,000 to AUD 6,000 per couple less than the other 8 tours.  As all our golf will be played in motorised carts (other than for those golfers who prefer to walk), warm weather on the golf courses should not be of concern.

After a complimentary airport transfer, your journey commences with a 4 night stay in Prague at the recently renovated 5 star Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel.  While in Prague, there is a full day of touring comprising a walking tour of Old Prague in the morning and an afternoon underground tour of Prague including learning much about Vaclav Havel, the former Czech statesman, author, poet and playwright who helped lead his country to independence after Russian domination from 1945 to 1989.  Our stay in Prague also includes 2 x games of golf at PGA National Czech Republic – Oaks Prague.  The course was designed/constructed by leading USA golf architect Kyle Phillips (famous for Kingsbarns and many other leading golf courses) in 2020 and was quickly rated the #1 golf course in the Czech Republic, out of 100 other golf courses, and now ranks #70 in all of Europe.

After leaving Prague, our tour coaches to Kelheim to board MS Joy with a guided walking tour of Regensburg enroute.  Our cruise then travels for 10 days and 9 nights, sailing along 4 rivers through south west Germany, before reaching Trier, near Luxembourg.  Each day we will visit a new town or city in Germany.  In Frankfurt, there is an exclusive off the ship Tauck evening at Schlosshotel Kronberg, a luxury Castle Hotel built in 1893, where the movie Spencer was filmed to represent Princess Diana’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

We have a unique golf programme which allows you to elect to play between 3 and 5 golf courses during the river cruise (with differentiated pricing).  You choose which 3 courses you wish to play, or play 4 or 5 if this is your preference.  All are considered of a good to high standard and are a selection of the leading golf courses in the regions we visit.  When not golfing, there is a wide selection of Tauck day tours, including cycle rides, from which to choose.  All are included.

At the conclusion of the cruise, we train from Luxembourg to Paris and for 3 nights in this ever popular city.  Our accommodation is in the 5 star L’Hotel du Collectionneur, located on the Right Bank, a 1 km walk to the Arc de Triomphe and the Av. des Champs-Élysées.  Tauck has booked Deluxe Rooms but all guests in the Category 7 rooms on MS Joy, will be upgraded to prestige rooms (30 sqm) in the hotel.

In Paris, we have 2 golf games scheduled for your enjoyment. The first is at the sensational and challenging Albatross Course at Golf National, home of the French Golf Open and venue of the 2018 Ryder Cup and 2024 Paris Olympics, and at Golf de Yvelines.

Golfers should not be concerned about joining the tour with non-golfing partners as the cruise and much of the time in both Prague and Paris includes daily complimentary shore excursions.  This ensures your partner will be kept well entertained.  There are countless sightseeing options for the non-golfer in both Prague and Paris independent of what Tauck has to offer.

Importantly, singles can join this cruise/tour with no single supplement on the Tauck 13 night component of the tour provided Category 1 staterooms are booked on MS Joy.  Within our group allotment, we have 2 x Category 1 staterooms (for singles).  For couples we have secured 16 x Category 7 staterooms (the largest suites on the ship with an area of 27 sqm – all are located on the top deck) with the balance of our allocation in Middle Deck Category 6 staterooms (also large by European Riverboat standards at just over 20 sqm).  We expect to have sufficient Category 7 rooms for all couples on this tour (which is usually a combination of golfer/golfer and golfer/non-golfer couples).

Your cruise includes all meals and beverages (all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available complimentary at any time with no price supplements, including all wines from within the extensive Tauck cellar), gratuities, wifi, shore excursions, use of the fitness centre and arrival airport/train transfers.  The 7 nights pre- and post-cruise hotel stays include breakfast daily and 4 dinners.  In addition, golfing guests will enjoy between 7 and 9 rounds of golf, return coach transfers to golf courses, motorised carts, prize money, and drinks post golf.  Your golf games are split 2 games in Prague, between 3 and 5 games on cruise and 2 games when based in Paris.

Your tour hosts are Adrienne Witteman and David Cooper, Directors and Co-Owners of TTGT.  Both are enthusiastic golfers and longstanding members of one of Sydney’s most prestigious golf clubs.  They have golfed and cruised extensively throughout the world (the image to the right is on the Nile River as part of our recent Egypt golf cruise).  They invite you to join them on this fantastic tour, stopping at great towns and cities, with long port days combined with the chance to play between 7 and 9 golf games, all at a wonderful selection of leading golf courses within the areas visited.

Significant additional information on the Tauck component of our tour can be found on the following link:

https://www.tauck.com.au/tours/european-cities-paris-prague-river-cruise?tcd=QPY2026

Tauck European river boats sailing the Rhine/Danube (including subsidiary rivers) typically have significantly larger staterooms/suites than their competitors.  On MS Joy, 70% of the guest rooms have a size of 20 sqm and above.  We have a large group allocation of Category 7 rooms which are on the top deck and offer stand out value with their size of 27 sqm, Euro 100/room on board credit (not available to other room categories) – available for spa, laundry and gift shop and significant room upgrades in Paris.

*Important Disclosure – While the tour is advertised by Tauck as 13 nights, the actual Trendsetter Travel tour is 16 nights with the 2 x extra nights in Prague (10/12 August 2026) and the extra night in Paris on 25/26 August 2026 provided as part of the separately priced Trendsetter Travel golf programme.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Monday 10 August 2026 – Prague

Enjoy a complimentary transfer from Prague’s Vaclav Havel International Airport or Prague’s Nadrazi train station to Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel.  The complimentary transfers are provided even if you arrive up to 3 days pre-tour.  The hotel has recently completed an extensive renovation and is now one of the most exclusive 5 star properties in the heart of Prague.  It features 297 luxurious rooms and suites (all with walk in showers and some with separate bath), the extensive Fairmont Spa, indoor and outdoor pools plus 3 restaurants and 3 bars.

Prague is the largest city in the Czech Republic, and is renowned for it rich history and Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectures.  Its known as the “city of a hundred spires” due to the many towers, turrets and steeples that paint its skyline.  We will learn much of the volatile history of Czech Republic from the time of the formation as an independent Czecholasvakia (1919) to its annexation into the German 3rd Reich in 1938/1939, due to the forever regrettable acquiesence of France and Great Britain in the infamous 1938 Munich agreement between Adolf Hitler and Neville Chamberlain.  Freedom from German Rule occurred in 1945 but then followed 44 years of comminest rule under the iron fist of the Soviet Union until its eventual liberation in 1989, and the subsequent amical split into the independent nations of Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Tonight meet at 6.30 pm for TTGT welcome drinks and dinner with the venue to be confirmed. We start our tour 2 days in advance of the remainder of the Tauck tour party.

Tour Inclusions: transfer to hotel, pre-dinner drinks, dinner (including drinks) and accommodation

There are over 100 golf courses in Czech Republic, a country with a golf tradition dating back to 1904.  In Prague itself, there are 8 golf courses.  The stand out course in the Czech Republic is PGA National Czech Republic – Oaks Prague (Prague National).  The course was designed/constructed by Kyle Phillips in 2020 and apart from immediately moving to #1 golf course in the Czech Republic, it also moved straight into the top 100 golf courses in Europe.  We have decided to play the best golf course twice rather than play one of the other 7 x Prague golf courses.  We have secured prime tee times at 10 am on both days.

MS Joy – Specifications & Deck Plan

MS Joy is of a similar specification to most Tauck European river boats with a maximum of 67 staterooms and a maximum accommodaton of 130 guests.  The 3 x key unique aspects of Tauck’s.

European riverboats (with specific reference to MS Joy) are:

  • The top deck constitutes 22 x Category 7 staterooms of 27 sqm, some 50% larger than most comparable standard top deck staterooms on other European riverboats;
  • most middle deck rooms are Category 6 staterooms which at over 20 sqm is larger than the average stateroom size of Tauck’s competitor European riverboats; and
  • the bottom deck rooms are split between the comparatively small Category 1 staterooms at 13.5 sqm (but are ideal for single travellers with a zero single supplement) or the larger Category 3 rooms at 20 sqm. However, the bottom deck is partly below the water line and only has ¼ windows (cannot be opened) whereas the middle and top deck staterooms have floor to ceiling windows which do open.

The deck plan for MS Joy is shown below:

Trendsetter Travel has a limited allocation of:

  •  2 x Category 1 (no single supplement) waterline window with “Swan View”
  •  16 x Category 7 suites on the top deck with french balcony
  •  6 x Category 6 staterooms on the middle deck with french balcony

For couples or twin share, we strongly recommend the top deck Category 7 rooms as offering the best relative value and indeed our guests in these rooms on previous Tauck tours share this view. With an internal room area of 27 sqm, they approach the internal room areas of the standard lead-in suites on both Silversea and Seabourn, the two ocean cruise lines we have used extensively for most of our past ocean cruise golf programmes.  Category 7 staterooms receive a bonus Euro 100 per stateroom on board credit to be used in the spa, gift shop or for laundry service (note there is no guest laundry).

Further with your 3 nights in Paris during the later part of our tour, the Category 1 to 6 guests are booked in the Deluxe Category rooms whereas the Category 7 guests are booked in the higher Prestige Category rooms.  The Prestige category is a more luxurious room with superior views.  While no rooms are identical within a category, within the Prestige Category, there are some rooms that have a balconies and some that have an Eiffel Tower view.  However, as with all historic Paris hotels, not all rooms are identical within each category and no specific room can be guaranteed within the Deluxe or Prestige category.

For singles, subject to availability, there are also attractive single supplements in the Category 3 to 5 staterooms located on the middle and top decks.

The hotel will assign guests to the best available rooms within the appropriate category.

  • The limit on our tour party is governed by the number of available motorised carts and non golfers.  We will have a higher guest limit where golfers wish to use an electric (or manual) walking trolley
  • TRAVEL INSURANCE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED – Trendsetter can assist as necessary

The golf package price does NOT include golf club hire.  It does include green fees, motorised cart hire (subject to availability), coach transfers, prize money each game, drinks post golf, your 2 x extra nights in Prague and 1 x extra night in Paris.  Golf will be played on the courses as specified but Trendsetter cannot be held responsible for any cancellation/s (relating to the 5 of 9 golf courses played while on the cruise) necessitated by a change to Tauck’s itinerary due to weather or any other event, or late amendment by the golf course or if Trendsetter considers it in the best interests of the tour party as a whole to make a change in the specified golf course (eg due to course maintenance issues or lack of motorised carts or a better golf course having been found).  In the event of a cancellation and if Trendsetter cannot organise an alternative golf course, Trendsetter will pass through any refund available.  For those walking and not using a golf cart, a small refund will be provided.  Where a golf course has a limitation on golf carts (most courses should have sufficient golf carts), carts will be allocated in the chronological order of tour bookings.

Policies of Prague to Paris Golf Cruise – 10 to 26 August 2026

Golf cruises offer golfers an interesting way to travel, enjoy your passion for the game and remain fit while partaking in the gourmet delights most luxury cruise ships offer.  For those looking at the options available for you and your fellow keen golfers, here are some pro tips to help you find a cruise that meets all your needs. Finally, your ship has come in!

Check the itinerary

Check the itinerary before you book, to ensure it is a realistic schedule. Seek a cruise that features long and plentiful shore days at ports with good golf courses.  You will probably appreciate the occasional sea day to rest up and relax.

Go all-inclusive to save

High-profile US tour companies typically price their golf at US$500 (A$650) plus per person per round in addition to the cost of the cruise. Trendsetter Travel and Cruise Centre specialises in small all-inclusive luxury ships, and recommends this for the best experience.  Playing the same courses as its more expensive pier group, the golf package component of a Trendsetter cruise less than half the price of its international competitors.

Ship size does matter

Be wary of cruises for more than 1,300 passengers.  Large ships will give priority to their own tours when it comes to disembarking, preventing independently organised golfers from exiting the ship quickly.  Delays can mean missing tee-off times.  Even if you can overcome a late arrival, the delay can cause disappointment when you must abandon the course early to return to your cruise shipboat. David Cooper, the director of Trendsetter Travel, recommends selecting a cruise ship with between 100 and 900 passengers. “These smaller ships can also get to the smaller ports, such as St. Tropez, St. Malo, Menorca, Portofino, which all have great golf courses.”

Make sure you get enough time at port

Most golf excursions take at least eight hours—including return transportation to the course, an un-pressured golf game and importantly time post golf at the club for refreshments and prize giving. To make the most of your day, aim for a minimum of ten hours in port. Your group will need to arrive at the course an hour prior to tee-off, and allow for a round of four balls to be completed (plan on four and ½ hours hours).

Healthy competition and fair play

Select a golf cruise where the organisers incorporate adjustments up and down for players’ handicaps, after each round.  This means that the prize money is spread around over the tour. David Cooper advises to ask about this when you are booking.  “We run a handicap adjustment system after each round to establish a par stableford score for the day,” he says. “After eight games, the better performers may see their handicaps reduce perhaps two shots and the ‘battlers’ might earn four or five shots back.” Every tour golfer wants at least one collect.

Swing your partner ‘round

Cooper advises, “Where our golf tour participants book as a couple, they will always play as a couple unless they request otherwise.”  If you are booking as a single or wish to enhance the challenge by playing outside of your group, find an organiser who is mindful of matching players’ handicaps, so that you can get the most out of the cruise.

Beware the fake golf cruise

You may discover cruises advertised as a golf tour but, on closer inspection, find they only offer golfing pre and post cruise.  Check for this, as it might not be what you have in mind. Trendsetter golf cruises schedule a minimum of six games on ocean cruise shore days.  David Cooper mentions, “We even create opportunities where a golf enthusiast can play additional optional rounds, and others can have a more limited golf programme depending on what they are looking for with equitable downward price adjustments.”   To learn more about the great golf cruises that Trendsetter Travel and Cruise Centre have available, please contact David on 0413 010 638 or +61 413 010 638 (if calling from overseas) or on david@trendsettertravel.com.au
