Paris to Normandy cruise

Itinerary

Day 1 – Monday 31 May 2027 – Paris

Arrive into Paris and transfer to the elegant Domaine des Vanneaux Golf & Spa — approximately 30–40 minutes by car from Charles de Gaulle Airport (allow around EUR 65–75 by taxi or Uber). Alternatively, guests staying in central Paris may choose to taxi or Uber or travel by train before continuing to the hotel.

Your home for the next six nights is the beautifully designed 65-room Domaine des Vanneaux Golf & Spa, an exceptional golf resort completed in 2021 and set amongst the fairways of the renowned Isle Adam Golf Course. Combining contemporary French style with a relaxed country atmosphere, this boutique property offers the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the very best of golf and hospitality.

Accommodation is in spacious 32 sqm King Rooms, each featuring a private terrace, elegant walk-in shower and all of the refined comforts and thoughtful touches expected of a premium hotel. Guests wishing to elevate their stay further may choose to upgrade to a 51 sqm Junior Suite or Deluxe Suite.

Dining at the hotel is a highlight in itself, with both the main restaurant and dedicated breakfast venue offering an exceptional culinary experience. Having been personally tested and inspected, we can confidently say the food, service and overall standards are outstanding.

This evening, settle into the relaxed French atmosphere as we gather for welcome drinks followed by a private group dinner in our exclusive dining space at the hotel — the perfect opportunity to meet fellow travellers and begin an unforgettable stay.

Inclusions: accommodation, pre dinner drinks, dinner (including drinks)

Day 2 – Tuesday 1 June 2027 – Paris – Game 1 - The Roissy International Golf Course

This morning we enjoy a short 25-minute coach transfer to experience one of the region’s newest and most exciting golfing additions — The Roissy International Golf Course (opened 2020).

Designed to exacting modern standards, this impressive championship layout has quickly built a reputation for both its presentation and playability. Featuring a collection of memorable and strategically demanding holes, the course rewards thoughtful shot-making while providing an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all levels.

A reflection of its quality and growing prestige, Roissy International has already been selected to host several professional golf tournaments — further recognition of its outstanding design and conditioning.

Highly recommended and eagerly anticipated, this marks the first occasion a Trendsetter Travel golf tour will play Roissy International, giving our guests the opportunity to experience a superb modern French golf course.

This evening presents an opportunity to relax and enjoy French cuisine at its finest.  We recommend our hotel’s outstanding Le Piaf Restaurant, offering stylish indoor dining as well as expansive outdoor terraces perfect for a leisurely evening meal.

Alternatively, venture into the nearby villages of Presles or L’Isle-Adam, where local cafés and restaurants provide an authentic French dining experience — and perhaps the perfect opportunity to put your French language skills to the test.

Inclusions: accommodation, breakfast, golf, coach transfers, prize money and drinks

Day 3 – Wednesday 2 June 2027 – Paris – Game 2 - Golf d’Apremont

Following breakfast, we travel by coach to enjoy a round at Golf d’Apremont (established 1992) — an attractive and enjoyable parkland course that has become a favourite inclusion on previous Trendsetter golf tours.

Set amongst beautiful natural surrounds, the course provides a rewarding test of golf with several strategically placed water carries adding interest and challenge throughout the round. Beyond its quality layout, one of Golf d’Apremont’s greatest advantages for our group is its excellent availability of motorised golf carts — a valuable feature often difficult to secure at many of the premier courses across the Chantilly region.

Inclusions: accommodation, breakfast, golf, coach transfers, prize money and drinks post golf

Day 4 – Thursday 3 June 2027 – Paris – Rest Day

After two enjoyable days on the fairways, today has been deliberately left free — because we know that for many of our guests, two consecutive rounds of golf is enough to earn a well-deserved break.

Enjoy a leisurely day at Domaine des Vanneaux Golf & Spa, where you may choose to relax by the pool, enjoy the hotel’s facilities or simply embrace the slower pace of the French countryside.

For those keen for one more round, there is the option to play at the resort’s own Golf de l’Isle-Adam, conveniently located at your doorstep.

Alternatively, take advantage of the opportunity to explore Paris independently. A courtesy transfer will operate from the hotel to nearby Presles Station, where regular direct train services connect to Gare du Nord in approximately 30–40 minutes — making it easy to spend the day discovering Parisian cafés, boutiques, galleries and iconic landmarks before returning to the tranquillity of your hotel in the evening.

Today is yours to enjoy exactly as you choose.

Inclusions: accommodation and breakfast

Day 5 – Friday 4 June 2027 – Paris – Game 3 - Golf de l'Isle-Adam

Today could not be more convenient — simply step out the front door of our hotel and enjoy a leisurely 200 metre walk to Golf de l’Isle-Adam (opened 1995), where your motorised buggy and golf clubs await.

Set within beautiful natural surroundings, this outstanding parkland course delivers a round full of variety and interest. No two holes feel the same, with an engaging mix of layouts that combine strategic water features, subtle elevation changes and a design that rewards both accuracy and course management.

Playing directly from our resort adds to the relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to fully enjoy one of the region’s most enjoyable golfing experiences without the need for transfers.

Following golf, gather with fellow travellers in the spacious clubhouse to unwind over a well-earned drink and our tour prize presentation. With expansive indoor facilities and a welcoming outdoor terrace overlooking the course, it is the perfect setting to celebrate the day and reflect on another memorable round in France.

Inclusions: accommodation, breakfast, golf, prize money and drinks post golf

Day 6 – Saturday 5 June 2027 – Game 4 - Golf de Raray

Today we enjoy a short coach transfer to experience another favourite amongst our Trendsetter golf tours — Golf de Raray.

Set within the magnificent grounds of the historic Château de Raray (see photo), this memorable parkland course combines classic French elegance with an enjoyable golfing challenge. The layout weaves through picturesque countryside and mature woodlands, demanding thoughtful shot selection while rewarding good course management.

Beyond the golf itself, Golf de Raray is renowned for its warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere. Following your round, relax with fellow travellers in the inviting clubhouse and enjoy excellent post-golf hospitality — the perfect setting to reflect on the day’s highlights while taking in the charm and history of this unique French golfing destination.

Inclusions: accommodation, breakfast, golf, coach transfers, prize money and drinks post golf

Day 7 – Sunday 6 June 2027 – Transfer to SS Joie de Vivre

Enjoy a relaxed morning before we depart by coach for our 50–60 minute transfer to the elegant SS Joie de Vivre, beautifully berthed on the Seine River in one of Paris’ most enviable locations, close to the iconic Eiffel Tower.

Upon arrival, step aboard and settle into what will become your floating boutique hotel for the next seven unforgettable nights. Designed to capture the charm and sophistication of classic Paris, the ship offers an intimate and luxurious atmosphere from the moment you arrive.

Once checked in, the choice is yours — unwind on board with a drink and watch Paris drift by from the deck, or take advantage of the superb location and enjoy a leisurely stroll into the heart of the city to soak up its cafés, boulevards and unmistakable Parisian atmosphere.

For this cruise, it is anticipated that most guests will choose either the elegant Suite accommodation (pictured below left) or the stylish Deluxe Balcony Staterooms (pictured below right), both ideally positioned on the top deck for easy access and premium views.

Inclusions: accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner and coach transfer to SS Joie de Vivre

Day 8 – Monday 7 June 2027 – La Roche Guyon - Giverny

After cruising peacefully through the night, awaken to the charming riverside village of La Roche-Guyon, where SS Joie de Vivre will berth for the morning beneath dramatic limestone cliffs.

The morning offers a choice of experiences. You may wish to join a leisurely bike ride through the surrounding countryside or visit the magnificent Château de La Roche-Guyon, one of France’s most fascinating historic residences. With origins stretching back centuries, the château has witnessed countless moments in history and, most notably, served as Field Marshal Rommel’s headquarters in 1944 during the Second World War.

Return to the ship for a relaxed lunch as we continue sailing along the Seine to Giverny, one of France’s most beautiful and inspiring villages.

This afternoon, immerse yourself in the colour and tranquillity of Monet’s Garden — the celebrated home and masterpiece of Claude Monet. Wander through the vibrant flower gardens, cross the iconic Japanese bridge and admire the water lily ponds that inspired many of the artist’s most famous works. It is a delightful and memorable experience that captures the essence of French art, beauty and countryside living.

Inclusions: breakfast, lunch and dinner plus all standard tours and drinks.

Day 9 – Tuesday 8 June 2027 – Rouen – Golf du Vaudreuil

Early this morning, SS Joie de Vivre arrives in Rouen, one of France’s most captivating medieval cities and forever linked to the story of Saint Joan of Arc, who was famously burned at the stake here in 1431.

Today we leave the river briefly and travel by coach to enjoy a round at Golf du Vaudreuil — one of Normandy’s most respected golf courses. Set amongst attractive parkland surroundings, the course combines excellent conditioning with a thoughtful and enjoyable layout. Its quality is reflected in the fact it hosts an annual tournament on the Challenge Tour, Europe’s leading professional development circuit and the pathway to the DP World Tour.

Following golf, return to Rouen where there should be ample time to explore independently before the ship departs in the early hours of the following morning. Wander the atmospheric cobbled streets, admire the half-timbered buildings, visit the magnificent cathedral, or simply relax in one of the many cafés and soak up the character of this remarkable riverside city.

With an overnight berth, Rouen invites you to enjoy its history and charm at your own pace.

Inclusions: breakfast and dinner plus golf, coach transfers, prize money and drinks post golf.

Day 10 – Wednesday 9 June 2027 – Caudebec en Caux – Golf d’Etretat

Today we journey through the beautiful rolling countryside of Normandy to the picturesque seaside village of Étretat, home to one of the most spectacular golfing settings anywhere in the world.

Our round today is at Golf d’Étretat, dramatically positioned atop soaring coastal cliffs with breathtaking views stretching across the Atlantic Ocean. Combining natural beauty with an unforgettable layout, this is a golfing experience that remains etched in the memory long after the final putt. The panoramic outlooks are regularly compared with those of Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand — and many would argue Étretat more than holds its own.

Beyond the remarkable scenery, the course offers an enjoyable and rewarding test of golf in a truly iconic location.

As has become tradition on previous TTGT Seine golf cruises, if timing permits, there will also be an opportunity after golf to independently explore the charming town of Étretat. Wander the waterfront promenade, enjoy a café or glass of wine, browse the local boutiques, or simply take in the atmosphere of one of France’s most beautiful coastal destinations.

Non-golfers will visit the beautiful fishing village of Honfleur, located at the mouth of the Seine.

Inclusions: breakfast and dinner plus golf, coach transfers, prize money, drinks post golf and Etretat visit.

Day 11 – Thursday 10 June 2027 – Rouen - Normandy Beaches

Overnight, SS Joie de Vivre returns to Rouen, positioning us for what many guests consider the defining experience of the entire cruise — a full day (approximately 7.30am to 7.00pm) exploring the historic Normandy Landing Beaches.

The events of June 1944 (D-Day) remain one of the most significant moments of the Second World War. Following years of occupation, the Allied landings marked the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe and set in motion the events that ultimately led to the defeat of Nazi Germany less than a year later. Visiting these sites today is both moving and unforgettable.

Uniworld has consistently delivered exceptional experiences here, with knowledgeable local guides bringing the stories, strategy and human courage of D-Day vividly to life.

To allow guests to experience the areas most meaningful to them, Uniworld now offers three separate touring options focusing on the American, British and Canadian sectors.  Traditionally, the American tour has been the most extensive, including visits to Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église — famously recognised from The Longest Day and remembered as one of the first towns liberated by American forces — together with independent lunch time in the village, followed by Pointe du Hoc and the moving Normandy American Cemetery, dramatically positioned above Omaha Beach.

Having personally visited the Normandy beaches and key historic locations many times over the past 15 years, your host David Cooper will review the latest inclusions across all three touring options and provide guidance before you make your selection, helping you choose the experience that best matches your interests.

This is far more than a sightseeing day — it is an opportunity to stand where history changed the world.

Inclusions: breakfast and dinner plus full day tour of the Normandy Beach battlefields.

Day 12 – Friday 11 June 2027 – Mantes-la-Jolie – Versailles

This morning, SS Joie de Vivre berths at Mantes-la-Jolie, providing the perfect gateway to one of France’s most magnificent and historically significant landmarks — the extraordinary Palace of Versailles.

With no golf scheduled today, enjoy the opportunity to immerse yourself in the grandeur, history and sheer scale of what was once the centre of French royal life. Your visit includes access to the opulent palace interiors and the world-famous Hall of Mirrors, one of Europe’s most iconic rooms. Beyond its extraordinary beauty, this gallery also occupies an important place in world history as the location where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, formally bringing an end to the First World War.

Adding to the experience, Uniworld provides a special privilege not available to general visitors — an exclusive guided visit to the King’s Private Apartments. Hidden behind the palace’s grand public spaces, these intimate rooms offer a fascinating insight into the private world and daily life of French royalty.

From glittering halls and royal apartments to remarkable history at every turn, today promises to be one of the cultural highlights of your journey through France.

Inclusions: breakfast and dinner plus all standard tours and drinks.

Day 13 – Saturday 12 June 2027 – Paris – Round 7 – Albatros Course - Golf National

As our final full day aboard SS Joie de Vivre, Uniworld leaves the day open to experience Paris at your own pace — a fitting finale to an unforgettable journey. For those wishing for a more structured introduction, a guided morning coach tour of Paris is available, showcasing many of the city’s iconic landmarks and grand boulevards.

For the golfers, today delivers what will undoubtedly be one of the signature experiences of the tour — a round on the legendary Albatros Course at Le Golf National.  This is France’s most celebrated championship venue: the long-time home of the French Open, the host course for the Paris Olympic Golf competition in 2024, and famously the stage for the 2018 Ryder Cup, where some of golf’s most memorable moments unfolded. Today, many regard it as the most famous golf course in France.

As always, expect course presentation of the highest standard. The Albatross is a true championship examination — demanding accuracy, patience and strategic thinking. Thick, punishing rough and strategically placed water hazards create a course that rewards commitment and precision from the opening tee shot through to the closing holes.

For guests who have played here before, there is an added attraction. Following an extensive 12-month redevelopment completed in 2026, the course now presents an updated and refreshed challenge while maintaining all the character and drama that made it world-famous.

And then there is the unforgettable finish — the iconic closing stretch culminating at the dramatic 18th hole, where water guards the approach and where so many Ryder Cup contests were decided. It is one of golf’s great finishing holes and the perfect stage for what promises to be a true bucket-list golfing experience and one of the standout highlights of the entire tour.

Inclusions: breakfast, dinner plus all standard tours and drinks.

Day 14 – Sunday 13 June 2027 – Paris – Tour Ends

This morning marks the conclusion of our memorable Paris and Normandy golf cruise journey.

After breakfast, it is time to farewell fellow travellers and disembark SS Joie de Vivre, taking with you unforgettable memories of championship golf, historic landmarks, spectacular scenery and the unique experience of exploring France by both land and river.

From here, continue independently with your onward travel plans — whether extending your stay in Paris, continuing your European adventure or beginning the journey home.

Please note that airport and onward transfer arrangements are not included.

Bon voyage and we look forward to welcoming you on another Trendsetter Travel experience in the future.

Inclusions: breakfast

Deck Plan - Available Rooms/Suites on SS Joie De Vivre

  • TTGT has 1 x Grand Suite, 6 x suites and 12 x Deluxe French Balconies in its allocation to 31 July 2026. However, there are plenty of middle deck (Balzac Deck) rooms currently available even though not in our allocation.
  • All the Deluxe, A and B French Balcony rooms are physically identical. The difference is that the pricing is elevated for the top deck (Victor Hugo Deck) and is higher for French Balcony A (over B) as the A category rooms are towards the middle of the ship.
  • There are two restaurants on ship – the main Le Restaurant Pigalle (on Balzac Deck) and Le Bistro (on Victor Hugo Deck) which is a lovely French bistro style restaurant – both have been equally popular on previous cruises on SS Joie de Vivre.
  • On the bottom Deck, there are 9 x Classic Rooms. These are smaller rooms (15 to 17 sqm) with quarter windows – so called Swan View rooms.  We do not recommend these for couples unless all other room categories are sold out or a budget room is required.
  • Images of all the rooms can be found on the following link – https://www.uniworld.com/us/river-cruise/france/paris-and-normandy/2027-paris-to-paris/ship-details .

Policies of Paris to Normandy Golf Cruise – 13 Nights | 7 Rounds of Golf 31 May – 13 June 2027

Golf cruises offer golfers an interesting way to travel, enjoy your passion for the game and remain fit while partaking in the gourmet delights most luxury cruise ships offer.  For those looking at the options available for you and your fellow keen golfers, here are some pro tips to help you find a cruise that meets all your needs. Finally, your ship has come in!

Check the itinerary

Check the itinerary before you book, to ensure it is a realistic schedule. Seek a cruise that features long and plentiful shore days at ports with good golf courses.  You will probably appreciate the occasional sea day to rest up and relax.

Go all-inclusive to save

High-profile US tour companies typically price their golf at US$500 (A$650) plus per person per round in addition to the cost of the cruise. Trendsetter Travel and Cruise Centre specialises in small all-inclusive luxury ships, and recommends this for the best experience.  Playing the same courses as its more expensive pier group, the golf package component of a Trendsetter cruise less than half the price of its international competitors.

Ship size does matter

Be wary of cruises for more than 1,300 passengers.  Large ships will give priority to their own tours when it comes to disembarking, preventing independently organised golfers from exiting the ship quickly.  Delays can mean missing tee-off times.  Even if you can overcome a late arrival, the delay can cause disappointment when you must abandon the course early to return to your cruise shipboat. David Cooper, the director of Trendsetter Travel, recommends selecting a cruise ship with between 100 and 900 passengers. “These smaller ships can also get to the smaller ports, such as St. Tropez, St. Malo, Menorca, Portofino, which all have great golf courses.”

Make sure you get enough time at port

Most golf excursions take at least eight hours—including return transportation to the course, an un-pressured golf game and importantly time post golf at the club for refreshments and prize giving. To make the most of your day, aim for a minimum of ten hours in port. Your group will need to arrive at the course an hour prior to tee-off, and allow for a round of four balls to be completed (plan on four and ½ hours hours).

Healthy competition and fair play

Select a golf cruise where the organisers incorporate adjustments up and down for players’ handicaps, after each round.  This means that the prize money is spread around over the tour. David Cooper advises to ask about this when you are booking.  “We run a handicap adjustment system after each round to establish a par stableford score for the day,” he says. “After eight games, the better performers may see their handicaps reduce perhaps two shots and the ‘battlers’ might earn four or five shots back.” Every tour golfer wants at least one collect.

Swing your partner ‘round

Cooper advises, “Where our golf tour participants book as a couple, they will always play as a couple unless they request otherwise.”  If you are booking as a single or wish to enhance the challenge by playing outside of your group, find an organiser who is mindful of matching players’ handicaps, so that you can get the most out of the cruise.

Beware the fake golf cruise

You may discover cruises advertised as a golf tour but, on closer inspection, find they only offer golfing pre and post cruise.  Check for this, as it might not be what you have in mind. Trendsetter golf cruises schedule a minimum of six games on cruise shore days.  David Cooper mentions, “We even create opportunities where a golf enthusiast can play additional optional rounds, and others can have a more limited golf programme depending on what they are looking for with equitable downward price adjustments.”   To learn more about the great golf cruises that Trendsetter Travel and Cruise Centre have available, please contact David on (02) 9428 5900 or on david@trendsettertravel.com.au
