Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours invites you to join us on our Luxury Egypt – Nile Golf Tour, which includes a 7 night cruise on Uniworld’s SS Sphinx from Luxor to Luxor. The tour is structured to allow you to see the main historic monuments and sights of Egypt while travelling and staying in 5 star luxury. Your hotel stay in Cairo will be a leading 5 star luxury hotel, located on the banks of the Nile River with panoramic Nile River facing rooms. In addition, you will stay 4 nights at a 5 star resort on the Red Sea coast and have a chance to golf alongside and swim/float in that famous salty sea.
There are 26 golf courses in Egypt and some of the golf courses in Cairo date back to the British military occupation of Egypt. We will have 7 games of golf in Egypt and play 6 different golf courses. All are internationally rated courses, including designs by Greg Norman, Nick Faldo, Gary Player and Peter Thompson and have been constructed within the last 30 years. Each is of a high standard and will not disappoint – all of the golf courses significantly exceeded the best case expectations of our 2024 tour party. Not only are these courses among the best in Egypt (we will play the top 4 ranked courses and 6 of the top ranked 9 golf courses) but 2 feature in the top 35 golf courses in Africa, and 2 others in the top 100 listings. There is a lot of competition for these rankings due to the many great golf courses in South Africa and Morocco.
Our journey commences with a 6 night Cairo stay at either of the luxury 5 star Four Seasons Plaza Hotel or the nearby Ritz Carlton. Both offer panoramic Nile View rooms. Our stay in Cairo includes 4 games of golf at the best 4 golf courses in Cairo plus a day of guided touring including the new Cairo Museum and the Pyramids/Sphynx.
We then fly south to Luxor and board Uniworld’s luxury SS Sphinx (2021) for a 7 night cruise of the Nile River – https://www.uniworld.com/us/ships/ss-sphinx . Every day is a feast of fascinating sights and experiences, historic temples and tombs, as well as a tour to the life-changing Aswan Dam. There are also options of a special excursion to Abu Simbel and a hot air early morning balloon ride over Luxor. Your cruise includes all meals and beverages (standard alcoholic and non-alcoholic) over lunch and dinner including pre dinner drinks. Also included are gratuities, wifi and standard shore excursions. Rooms onboard the SS Sphinx lead in at 22 sqm French Balcony Suite, with an option to upgrade to higher category suites. The Sphinx accommodates up to 84 guests, looked after by 60 staff, and we anticipate our group to comprise 32 of those guests.
From Luxor we travel by coach for our final 4 nights at the Cascades Hotel from where we will play 3 games of golf. This is a fascinating drive through the farmland surrounding Luxor and then through panoramic mountain valleys to the Red Sea coast.
Our 2 hotel stays will include breakfast daily, plus a welcome dinner in Cairo and a farewell dinner at Somabay. On 8 evenings, dinner will be at your own selection and expense.
Late April is an ideal time to visit Egypt with perfect weather near guaranteed. The risk of any rain in Cairo, Luxor or Somabay is minimal. Our tour is timetabled to miss the very hot summer months, June to September, and the cold winter months of December to March.
Your tour hosts are Adrienne Witteman and David Cooper, Directors/Co-Owners of Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours, pictured right dressed up for the Egyptian dinner/Gulabeya night onboard Uniworld in 2024. Both are enthusiastic golfers and longstanding members of one of Sydney’s most prestigious golf clubs. They have golfed and cruised extensively around the world and invite you to join them on this fantastic cruise and golf tour.
Prices are reduced by AUD 150 pp for past guests on Uniworld. All guests will receive a Trendsetter Travel/Virtuoso amenity of A$200 pp ship board credit. This can be used for laundry, purchases of alcoholic drinks outside of included timings and for a contribution to the cost of flying to Abu Simbel. Please note that Egypt charges a circa 600% duty on foreign alcoholic beverages which makes their consumption prohibitively expensive. Thus, all drinks included by Uniworld and Trendsetter Travel are locally produced beers, wines and spirits. Our 2024 tour party found the local drinks more than cceptable alternatives to the foreign brand. Below is a group photo of our 2024 tour party during the Cairo day tour visiting Giza and the Pyramids.
Significant additional information on the Uniworld component of our tour can be found on the following link:
Our tour is strictly limited to 30 golfers plus hosts Adrienne and David.
**Trendsetter Travel will run a back to back Greece Golf Tour for 12 nights (2/14 May 2026) with the tour itinerary shortly to be released. It is an approximate 2 hour direct flight from Cairo to Athens where the tour commences. Trendsetter Travel will provide an AUD 250 pp contribution to your cost of flying to Athens for those electing to join both tours. Those booked on the Egypt tour will have an automatic option to join the much anticipated Greece Golf Tour.

It does not get much better than this on a river boat anywhere in the world.

https://www.uniworld.com/nz/ships/ss-sphinx/staterooms
Before dinner onboard this evening, we will be treated to a folkloric dance performance by a local band of dancers, in traditional costumes representing different Egyptian districts. This is known as the Whirling Dervish show.

The temple is but a short walk from our berth.
Later today, we will enjoy a relaxing sail north up the Nile before our ship berths in Luxor for the night.
