Iceland Golf Tour – 19 June – 3 July 2027 | 14 Nights | 7 Golf Games

ICELAND GOLF TOUR
14 Nights | 19 June – 3 July 2027
Reykjavík to Reykjavík | 7 Championship Golf Experiences

Twin Share: EUR 11,600 per person (EUR 23,200 per couple)
Single: EUR 16,350
Non-Golfer (sharing with golfer): EUR 10,500 per person

Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours (TTGT) invites you to join our inaugural Iceland Golf Tour—a remarkable 14-night journey combining the very best of Iceland’s extraordinary landscapes with unforgettable golf on seven of the country’s premier courses.

Beginning and ending in Reykjavík, this carefully curated itinerary has been designed to showcase Iceland’s iconic natural highlights while offering exceptional golf experiences across one of the world’s most dramatic and unique destinations.

With over 60 golf courses spread across this spectacular island nation, Iceland has quietly become one of golf’s great emerging destinations. During mid-summer, daylight stretches virtually around the clock, creating the rare opportunity to play beneath the endless light of the Arctic summer. While 24-hour golf is possible in Iceland, our itinerary adopts more traditional tee times—allowing evenings to be enjoyed at leisure with dinners, drinks and great company.

Discover One of the World’s Most Extraordinary Destinations

Located in the North Atlantic Ocean just south of the Arctic Circle, Iceland is a land of breathtaking contrasts. Volcanoes and glaciers sit side-by-side. Waterfalls thunder across ancient lava fields. Geothermal hot springs steam beneath snow-capped peaks.

Despite its icy name, summer reveals a surprisingly green landscape where glaciers cover only approximately 11% of the island.

First settled by Norse Vikings during the 9th century, Iceland possesses a rich cultural history and is home to one of the world’s oldest parliamentary institutions, founded at Þingvellir in 930 AD—a site we will visit during our journey.

Today, Iceland blends its fascinating Viking heritage with a modern, prosperous society known for environmental stewardship, exceptional infrastructure and an enduring connection to nature.

Home to fewer than 400,000 people, Iceland remains one of Europe’s least densely populated nations. Much of the countryside remains untouched wilderness, creating an atmosphere of space, tranquillity and natural beauty rarely experienced elsewhere.

To place Iceland into perspective—it is approximately 150% the size of Tasmania and around 75% the size of England.

Golf Like Nowhere Else on Earth

Golf in Iceland delivers something truly special.

Imagine teeing off beside volcanic cliffs, putting beneath mountain peaks and playing fairways carved through ancient lava fields—all while enjoying views of glaciers, waterfalls and rugged coastlines.

Our tour includes 7 outstanding golf experiences across Iceland, including rounds at some of the country’s most celebrated layouts.

Courses such as Brautarholt Golf Club, Keilir Golf Club and Vestmannaeyjar Golf Club are widely recognised among Europe’s most scenic and distinctive golfing venues. Across the tour we will play the top three and six of Iceland’s top eight ranked golf courses – this is a selection from over 60 golf courses in Iceland.

Expect immaculate course presentation, welcoming clubhouses, uncrowded fairways and golfing landscapes unlike anywhere else in the world.

Summer conditions are ideal, with daytime temperatures generally ranging between 10°C and 20°C, and cooler evenings of approximately 7°C to 10°C.

Your home in Reykjavík is the elegant Iceland Parliament Hotel, part of the prestigious Hilton Curio Collection. Ideally positioned in the heart of the city, this boutique 4-star property is widely regarded as one of Reykjavík’s premium accommodation experiences, offering the style, service and facilities often associated with a luxury 5-star hotel.

Guests seeking additional space and comfort may request an upgrade to either a Deluxe King (31 sqm) or a Junior Suite (subject to availability and supplement).

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your fellow travellers, enjoy Icelandic hospitality and toast the beginning of an unforgettable golfing and touring experience beneath the endless summer skies.

Day 2 – Sunday 20 June 2027 – Reykjavik – Golf Game 1 – Oddur Golf Club

Today marks the opening round of our Iceland Golf Tour as we head just 20 minutes from Reykjavík to experience one of the country’s most highly regarded golf venues—Oddur Golf Club. Ranked as Iceland’s No. 3 golf course, Oddur has established itself as one of the nation’s premier championship layouts and has proudly hosted numerous Icelandic National Championship events.

Expanded to a full 18-hole championship course in 1997, the layout offers a truly distinctive Icelandic golfing experience. Carved through dramatic lava landscapes created by the long-dormant Búrfell volcano, the course blends strategic design with stunning natural surroundings.

As you make your way across the fairways, ancient lava formations frame many holes, creating a golfing environment unlike almost anywhere else in the world. The course rewards thoughtful shot-making while delivering spectacular scenery at every turn.

An unforgettable first round awaits as we begin our Iceland golfing adventure in truly memorable style.

Day 3 – Monday 21 June 2027 – Reykjavik - Guided Tour - Exploring Iceland’s Historic Heart | Þingvellir National Park

Today we take a break from the fairways and immerse ourselves in one of Iceland’s most important and iconic landscapes.

Our first destination is Þingvellir National Park, located approximately 45 kilometres northeast of Reykjavík and forming part of Iceland’s celebrated Golden Circle touring route. Recognised for both its natural beauty and extraordinary historical significance, Þingvellir was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.

This remarkable location is far more than a national park—it is the birthplace of Icelandic democracy.  In 930 AD, Þingvellir became home to the Alþingi (Althing), Iceland’s national parliament and one of the oldest parliamentary institutions in the world. For almost 900 years, representatives travelled from across the country to gather in this dramatic setting to create laws, settle disputes and govern the nation, with parliamentary meetings continuing here until 1798.

Set amongst sweeping volcanic plains, cliffs and crystal-clear waters, it is easy to imagine the Viking-era assemblies that once shaped the future of an emerging nation.

Þingvellir also holds a special place in modern Icelandic history. In 1944, during the final years of World War II and while Denmark was under German occupation, Iceland formally declared its independence here and became a sovereign republic.

Today, Þingvellir remains a place of immense national pride—a stunning blend of geological wonder and historic significance, and an unforgettable introduction to the story of Iceland.

Day 4 – Tuesday 22 June 2027 – Reykjavik – Black Beach Suites – Golf Game 2 – Kiojaberg Golf Club - Waterfalls and Iceland’s Spectacular South Coast

This morning we make the short journey—approximately some 60 minutes from our hotel—to enjoy golf at the beautiful Kidjaberg Golf Course, one of Iceland’s hidden gems.

Originally opened as a 9-hole course in 1993 before expanding to a full 18-hole championship layout in 2005, Kidjaberg enjoys a spectacular natural setting alongside the winding White River as it journeys toward the Atlantic Ocean.

The course offers a classic Icelandic golf experience—wide open landscapes, peaceful surroundings and ever-changing views across volcanic terrain and river valleys. With nature never far from the fairways, this is golf in its purest form.

Following our round, we continue our journey south as we relocate to our next accommodation, Black Beach Suites near Vík. While the drive is less than three hours, this is far more than a simple transfer day—we have planned several scenic stops along the way to showcase some of Iceland’s most iconic landscapes.

One of today’s highlights is a visit to the magnificent Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most photographed natural attractions. Cascading approximately 60 metres from ancient sea cliffs, Seljalandsfoss offers a rare experience—the opportunity to walk behind the curtain of falling water and view the waterfall from an entirely different perspective. Waterproof clothing is highly recommended for those wanting to enjoy the full experience.

Arriving near Vík, we check into Black Beach Suites, ideally positioned close to Iceland’s world-famous Black Sand Beach. Our accommodation features spacious 40 square metre Deluxe Studio Apartments with king-size bedding, providing an excellent opportunity to relax and unwind after another memorable day.  This evening we head into Vík to enjoy dinner together and soak up the atmosphere of one of Iceland’s most picturesque coastal villages.

Day 5 – Wednesday 23 June 2027 – Black Beach Suites – Day Touring - Iceland’s South Coast Spectacular | Waterfalls, Glaciers and Black Sand Shores

Today is devoted to discovering some of the most dramatic and iconic natural landscapes Iceland has to offer as we explore the spectacular South Coast.

Our day begins with a visit to the magnificent Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most recognisable natural wonders. Plunging gracefully from ancient sea cliffs, Seljalandsfoss offers the unique opportunity to walk behind the curtain of cascading water for an unforgettable perspective and incredible photographic opportunities.

From here, we continue to Sólheimajökull Glacier, a striking outlet glacier extending from the mighty Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. Surrounded by rugged volcanic terrain, this ever-changing landscape of ice formations, deep crevasses and dramatic textures provides a fascinating insight into Iceland’s powerful natural forces.

Next, we travel to the spectacular Dyrhólaey Arch, one of Iceland’s most photographed coastal landmarks. Rising above the Atlantic Ocean, this dramatic rock formation and surrounding cliffs deliver sweeping panoramic views of black beaches, crashing waves and endless coastline.

Our touring concludes with a visit to Iceland’s world-famous Black Sand Beach, where volcanic history has created a landscape unlike almost anywhere else on earth. Here, striking black sands contrast against powerful ocean swells and rugged basalt formations, creating one of Iceland’s most memorable and atmospheric locations.

Today offers an extraordinary showcase of Iceland’s raw beauty—waterfalls, glaciers, dramatic coastlines and volcanic landscapes that make this island nation truly unforgettable.

Day 6 – Thursday 24 June 2027 – Black Beach Suites – Golf Game 3 - Golf on the Westman Islands | One of Iceland’s Most Spectacular Courses

Today delivers one of the most memorable golfing experiences of our Iceland journey.

After a scenic 30-minute ferry crossing across the North Atlantic, we arrive at the remarkable Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar)—a dramatic volcanic archipelago renowned for its rugged beauty, colourful history and extraordinary coastal landscapes.

Our destination is the celebrated Vestmannaeyjar Golf Course, known internationally as the Westman Islands Golf Course and ranked among Iceland’s Top 10 courses (#6 nationally).

This spectacular par 70 layout offers golf unlike almost anywhere else in the world. Set amongst ancient volcanic formations and framed by breathtaking ocean views, the course winds through a landscape shaped by fire and sea. Towering cliffs, rolling fairways and the ever-present Atlantic combine to create an unforgettable setting and a true highlight of Icelandic golf.

Today is far more than a round of golf—it is an opportunity to experience one of Iceland’s most distinctive and visually stunning sporting venues.

Day 7 – Friday 25 June 2027 – Black Beach Suites - Day Touring - Glacier Lagoons and Diamond Beach | Exploring Iceland’s Frozen Wilderness

Today is dedicated to experiencing one of Iceland’s most breathtaking natural environments as we journey into a landscape shaped by ice, water and volcanic forces.

Our highlight is a visit to the spectacular Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon—a more secluded and intimate alternative to Iceland’s larger glacier lagoons. Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and overlooked by Öræfajökull, Iceland’s tallest volcanic peak, this remarkable location offers an unforgettable glimpse into Iceland’s icy wilderness.

To fully appreciate the scale and beauty of this extraordinary setting, our visit includes a 45-minute lagoon cruise, taking us amongst floating icebergs and beneath towering glacier faces. Cruising quietly across the crystal waters provides an exceptional opportunity to witness this constantly changing glacial landscape from a unique perspective.

Following our cruise, we continue our exploration with time to experience the majestic surroundings and visit nearby Diamond Beach, where glistening ice fragments wash ashore against striking black volcanic sands—creating one of Iceland’s most iconic and photogenic scenes.

After a day immersed in Iceland’s extraordinary natural beauty, we return to Black Beach Suites to relax and enjoy the evening.

Day 8 – Saturday 26 June 2027 – Black Beach Suites - Scenic Journey to West Iceland | Borgarnes

This morning offers a more relaxed pace, allowing time to enjoy breakfast and soak up the final moments of Iceland’s spectacular south coast before our 11.00 am check-out.

We then begin our journey north-west through Iceland’s ever-changing landscapes as we travel toward the charming seaside town of Borgarnes, our home for the next three nights.

While the overall transfer time is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, this is far more than simply a travel day. Along the way we will pause at selected scenic locations, providing opportunities to experience more of Iceland’s dramatic scenery and break up the journey in comfort.

Upon arrival in Borgarnes, we check into Hotel Vesturland, widely regarded as the town’s premier accommodation and ideally located to explore this beautiful region of West Iceland.

Set along the shores of Borgarfjörður fjord, Borgarnes combines small-town Icelandic charm with magnificent coastal and mountain views. Conveniently located approximately one hour from Reykjavík, it provides an excellent base to enjoy both the tranquillity of the countryside and access to some of Iceland’s most spectacular natural attractions.

Settle in this evening and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of one of Iceland’s most picturesque regional towns.

Day 9 – Sunday 27 June 2027 – Golf Game 4 - Borgarnes Golf Club | Championship Golf in the Heart of West Iceland

Today’s golfing experience is conveniently close to home, with a short five-minute drive taking us to one of West Iceland’s most respected golf venues—Borgarnes Golf Club.

Ranked #13 in Iceland, Borgarnes has earned a reputation as one of the country’s best-known and most enjoyable golfing destinations.

Opened in its current championship form in 2007, the 18-hole layout is beautifully integrated into the surrounding landscape, delivering an authentic Icelandic golfing experience. The course rolls naturally across open heathland and weaves through ancient lava formations, with strategically positioned ponds and streams adding both visual appeal and golfing challenge.

Surrounded by classic Icelandic scenery, Borgarnes combines wide-open spaces with thoughtful course design to create a memorable round suitable for golfers of all abilities.

With dramatic natural features and peaceful surroundings at every turn, today’s round offers another opportunity to experience why Iceland is becoming one of Europe’s most exciting emerging golf destinations.

Day 10 – Monday 28 June 2027 – Day touring - Iceland’s Iconic Landscapes | Mountains, Coastal Villages and Seals

Today is devoted to exploring some of West Iceland’s most scenic and unforgettable natural highlights.

Our day begins with a visit to the iconic Kirkjufell Mountain, one of Iceland’s most recognisable landmarks and widely regarded as the most photographed mountain in Iceland. Rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape, its distinctive symmetrical shape has made it famous worldwide and a favourite for photographers and travellers alike.

From here we continue to the hidden beauty of Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge, a narrow and atmospheric canyon carved deep into the mountainside. This remarkable natural feature invites visitors into a landscape of towering rock walls, flowing water and Icelandic legend.

Next, we visit the charming coastal village of Arnarstapi, renowned for its dramatic sea cliffs, rugged coastline and spectacular views across the North Atlantic. It is the perfect place to experience the raw beauty of Iceland’s western shores.

Our journey then takes us to Djúpalónssandur, a striking bay framed by dark volcanic cliffs and a sweeping black sand beach. Shaped by centuries of volcanic activity and Atlantic swells, this hauntingly beautiful location captures Iceland’s powerful and untamed character.

To conclude the day, we visit the picturesque Black Church of Búðir, one of Iceland’s most photographed and atmospheric landmarks, standing in dramatic contrast against the surrounding lava fields and open landscapes.

Our final stop is Ytri Tunga Beach, considered one of Iceland’s best locations for spotting seals. Keep watch along the shoreline, where these curious locals are often seen relaxing on the rocks or swimming just offshore.

Today showcases Iceland at its most spectacular—towering mountains, hidden gorges, coastal scenery and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Day 11 – Tuesday 29 June 2027 – Game 5 – Brautarholt Golf Club - Coastal Championship Golf and Return to Reykjavík

Today we farewell the beautiful region of Borgarnes and begin our journey back toward Reykjavík, but not before experiencing what many regard as one of the true highlights of Icelandic golf.

En route, we play the extraordinary Brautarholt Golf Club, ranked #2 in Iceland and widely recognised as one of the most spectacular coastal golf courses anywhere in the world.  Located just 30 minutes from Reykjavík, Brautarholt occupies a breathtaking position perched above the North Atlantic, where dramatic clifftops meet rugged shoreline and panoramic ocean views accompany almost every shot.

While the greater Reykjavík region is home to more than 12 golf courses, our itinerary specifically includes Brautarholt for one simple reason—it delivers an experience unlike any other.

The course features a distinctive 18 hole layout, with the final six holes opened in 2025 and offers a spectacular links style golf experience.  Every hole embraces the surrounding landscape, creating a golf experience where the scenery is as memorable as the golf itself. With ocean cliffs, rolling fairways and uninterrupted coastal vistas, Brautarholt has earned its reputation as a genuine must-play destination and a signature highlight of our Iceland Golf Tour.

Following our round and a well-earned post-golf drink, we continue into Reykjavík and return to the elegant Iceland Parliament Hotel, where we settle in for our final four nights and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Iceland’s capital city.

Day 12 – Wednesday 30 June 2027 – Reykjavik – Free Day

After several days of unforgettable golf, spectacular touring and discovering the natural wonders of Iceland, today offers a welcome opportunity to slow the pace and enjoy some well-earned free time in Reykjavík.  With no scheduled touring or golf commitments, the day is entirely yours to enjoy at your own rhythm.

Take time to explore Iceland’s vibrant capital, stroll through its colourful streets, relax in one of the city’s cafés, browse local boutiques, visit galleries and museums, or simply unwind and enjoy the comfort of our centrally located hotel.

For those wanting to continue discovering Iceland, optional experiences may be available—from geothermal spas and harbour cruises to whale watching, local food experiences or additional sightseeing.

Whether you choose relaxation or exploration, today provides the perfect balance within our journey and an opportunity to experience Reykjavík in your own way.

Day 13 – Thursday 1 July 2027 – Reykjavik - Game 6 – Golf with Ocean Views | Mosfellsbær Golf Club

Today we enjoy another outstanding Icelandic golfing experience as we make the short 25-minute coach transfer from Reykjavík to Mosfellsbær Golf Club, home to the impressive Hlíðarvöllur Course.

Opened in 2012 and currently ranked #8 in Iceland, Hlíðarvöllur has quickly earned a reputation as one of the country’s premier modern golf layouts.

Set in an elevated coastal position overlooking the sea, the course combines beautifully maintained fairways with sweeping ocean vistas and a peaceful natural setting that creates a memorable round from the opening tee to the final putt.

Thoughtfully designed to work with the surrounding terrain, Hlíðarvöllur delivers both enjoyable golf and spectacular scenery, making it a worthy inclusion among Iceland’s best courses.

Adding to the experience, Mosfellsbær Golf Club is also known for having one of Iceland’s finest clubhouse facilities—an ideal place to relax, reflect on the round and enjoy the atmosphere after another exceptional day of golf in the land of fire and ice.

Day 14 – Friday 2 July 2027 – Reykjavik - Game 7 – Keilir Golf Club – Iceland’s # 1 Golf Experience

Today marks the final round of our Iceland Golf Tour—and we conclude in unforgettable style at the country’s highest-ranked golf venue, Keilir Golf Club.

Expanded to its full 18-hole championship layout in 1996, Keilir is widely regarded as Iceland’s premier golf club and offers a fitting finale to our journey through the land of fire and ice. Set amongst dramatic volcanic landscapes and framed by magnificent coastal scenery, Keilir delivers a golfing experience that is every bit as memorable as its reputation suggests. The course combines exceptional conditioning with spectacular natural surroundings to create a layout unlike almost anywhere else in the world.

The experience is enhanced by Keilir’s beautiful clubhouse, perfectly positioned to overlook the course and the North Atlantic beyond. On a clear day, the views stretch across the bay to Snæfellsjökull Glacier—the legendary ice-capped volcano immortalised by Jules Verne as the gateway to adventure in Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

After completing our final round and raising a celebratory post-golf drink, we make the short journey—less than 30 minutes—back to our Reykjavík hotel.

This evening we come together one last time for our Farewell Drinks and Dinner—an opportunity to reflect on an extraordinary two weeks of championship golf, spectacular landscapes, great company and unforgettable Icelandic experiences.

Policies of Iceland Golf Tour – 19 June – 3 July 2027 | 14 Nights | 7 Golf Games

Golf cruises offer golfers an interesting way to travel, enjoy your passion for the game and remain fit while partaking in the gourmet delights most luxury cruise ships offer.  For those looking at the options available for you and your fellow keen golfers, here are some pro tips to help you find a cruise that meets all your needs. Finally, your ship has come in!

Check the itinerary

Check the itinerary before you book, to ensure it is a realistic schedule. Seek a cruise that features long and plentiful shore days at ports with good golf courses.  You will probably appreciate the occasional sea day to rest up and relax.

Go all-inclusive to save

High-profile US tour companies typically price their golf at US$500 (A$650) plus per person per round in addition to the cost of the cruise. Trendsetter Travel and Cruise Centre specialises in small all-inclusive luxury ships, and recommends this for the best experience.  Playing the same courses as its more expensive pier group, the golf package component of a Trendsetter cruise less than half the price of its international competitors.

Ship size does matter

Be wary of cruises for more than 1,300 passengers.  Large ships will give priority to their own tours when it comes to disembarking, preventing independently organised golfers from exiting the ship quickly.  Delays can mean missing tee-off times.  Even if you can overcome a late arrival, the delay can cause disappointment when you must abandon the course early to return to your cruise shipboat. David Cooper, the director of Trendsetter Travel, recommends selecting a cruise ship with between 100 and 900 passengers. “These smaller ships can also get to the smaller ports, such as St. Tropez, St. Malo, Menorca, Portofino, which all have great golf courses.”

Make sure you get enough time at port

Most golf excursions take at least eight hours—including return transportation to the course, an un-pressured golf game and importantly time post golf at the club for refreshments and prize giving. To make the most of your day, aim for a minimum of ten hours in port. Your group will need to arrive at the course an hour prior to tee-off, and allow for a round of four balls to be completed (plan on four and ½ hours hours).

Healthy competition and fair play

Select a golf cruise where the organisers incorporate adjustments up and down for players’ handicaps, after each round.  This means that the prize money is spread around over the tour. David Cooper advises to ask about this when you are booking.  “We run a handicap adjustment system after each round to establish a par stableford score for the day,” he says. “After eight games, the better performers may see their handicaps reduce perhaps two shots and the ‘battlers’ might earn four or five shots back.” Every tour golfer wants at least one collect.

Swing your partner ‘round

Cooper advises, “Where our golf tour participants book as a couple, they will always play as a couple unless they request otherwise.”  If you are booking as a single or wish to enhance the challenge by playing outside of your group, find an organiser who is mindful of matching players’ handicaps, so that you can get the most out of the cruise.

Beware the fake golf cruise

You may discover cruises advertised as a golf tour but, on closer inspection, find they only offer golfing pre and post cruise.  Check for this, as it might not be what you have in mind. Trendsetter golf cruises schedule a minimum of six games on ocean cruise shore days.  David Cooper mentions, “We even create opportunities where a golf enthusiast can play additional optional rounds, and others can have a more limited golf programme depending on what they are looking for with equitable downward price adjustments.”   To learn more about the great golf cruises that Trendsetter Travel and Cruise Centre have available, please contact David on 0413 010 638 or +61 413 010 638 (if calling from overseas) or on david@trendsettertravel.com.au
